The Role The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing inventories to support domestic and international sales requirements, ensuring optimal resource utilization and timely fulfillment. They will oversee accurate planning data and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain an efficient and responsive supply chain. Requirements

  • BS/BA Business Administration, Operations Management or related degree.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a supply chain management role preferably in a specialty chemical related field.
  • Working experience with SAP Business Management system, specifically in MRP.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects effectively in a fast paced cross-functional team environment.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Team oriented with the ability to interact with many levels of individuals.
  • Knowledge of hazardous chemicals handling helpful
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned inventories to support domestic and international sales using MRP techniques.
  • Plan and organize manufacturing schedules to optimize resource utilization.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure commitments are met without issue.
  • Validate and confirm the accuracy of relevant ERP master data to support effective planning and execution within the MRP system.
  • Review customer forecasts, sales budgets, and historical data to validate and ensure that MRP data accurately reflects demand, supporting reliable production planning and inventory management.
  • Monitor returnable container loops and promptly escalate any issues or discrepancies.
  • Participate in the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) cross-functional team, supporting the Planning Manager to ensure all planning information and data are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned for assigned materials.
  • Develop and communicate planning requirements with internal teams, external customers, and suppliers to maintain optimal supply chain inventory levels.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with departments such as production operations, engineering, quality, and accounting.
  • Manage product distribution across all U.S. distribution centers.
  • Proactively identify and communicate potential product supply issues to facilitate timely resolution.
  • Order associated raw materials and packaging materials to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Collaborate with international partners to efficiently manage the logistics of finished goods and raw materials required to support sales and manufacturing.
