The Production Planner is responsible for developing and optimizing the production schedule and manufacturing plan, ensuring consistency with finished product demand, resource availability, and inventory objectives. This role involves scheduling material production to meet customer requirements and maintain inventory levels, coordinating with various departments such as Purchasing, Maintenance, and Engineering, and communicating with customers and subcontractors. Key duties include assisting with engineering changes, participating in new product development, maintaining accurate records, preparing daily and weekly schedules, and developing 12-week plans. The Production Planner also supports Purchasing in material usage estimation, reviews work-in-process material, conducts daily scheduling meetings, and works to minimize obsolete material. Participation in physical inventories, verification of Bill of Material and Routing accuracy, and maintenance of Material Master records are also part of the role. The position requires being on call 24/7 to address customer and scheduling questions and adherence to company business philosophy, standards of conduct, and environmental, quality, and safety policies.
