We’re looking for a skilled Production Planner for our plant in Carrollton, Texas. If you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoy balancing production, inventory, and capacity planning, this Production Planner role gives you the opportunity to directly influence plant performance, customer delivery, and operational efficiency. You’ll own the production schedule, partner with operations, and ensure materials, machines, and manpower align to keep the plant running at peak performance. Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with Purchasing, Customer Service, and Warehouse teams.
  • Manufacturing or industrial environment experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling principles.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
  • Understanding of inventory flow and capacity planning.
  • Experience in make‑to‑order or mixed‑mode manufacturing environments.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure.
  • Experience supporting warehouse and logistics coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Create, publish, and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
  • Balance customer demand, production capacity, material availability, and warehouse constraints.
  • Adjust schedules to accommodate demand changes, material shortages, equipment issues, or labor constraints.
  • Prioritize production orders to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Work closely with Purchasing to align material availability with production schedules.
  • Communicate production needs, lead times, and changes to ensure timely procurement.
  • Partner with Customer Service to confirm order priorities, delivery dates, and customer commitments.
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse on material staging, finished goods flow, and shipping schedules.
  • Review customer orders and forecasts to anticipate production requirements.
  • Identify risks to on time delivery and proactively communicate delays or mitigation plans.
  • Support Customer Service by providing accurate production and ship date information.
  • Assist with expedited or high‑priority orders when required.
  • Ensure raw materials and components are available to support the production schedule.
  • Monitor material constraints and trigger replenishment or escalation as needed.
  • Support inventory optimization by aligning production runs with storage and warehouse capacity.
  • Reduce WIP, bottlenecks, and excess inventory through effective scheduling.
  • Communicate schedules clearly to production supervisors and leads.
  • Support daily production meetings and schedule adherence tracking.
  • Identify inefficiencies, downtime, or bottlenecks impacting throughput.
  • Assist with production recovery plans when schedules are disrupted.
  • Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems related to production orders and schedules.
  • Generate and analyze reports related to schedule adherence, capacity utilization, and order status.
  • Ensure production changes are accurately reflected in system data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling accuracy, workflow efficiency, and communication.
  • Support process improvement initiatives involving planning, production flow, and inventory.
  • Help establish and document standard scheduling processes and best practices.
