About The Position

The Production Planner will have experience aligning demand, capacity, and material requirements to support efficient manufacturing operations. Skilled in developing integrated Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Master Production Schedules (MPS), and detailed production schedules that optimize resource utilization, reduce lead times, and improve on-time delivery performance. Adept at using ERP systems and data analytics to drive accurate forecasting, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborative communicator who partners effectively with sales, engineering, procurement, and shop-floor teams to support operational excellence, resolve supply constraints, and ensure smooth execution in engineered-to-order or heavy electrical manufacturing environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (preferably SYSPRO) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sales And Operations Planning (S&Op): Develop and maintain an effective S&OP process to align demand and supply plans.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory management.
  • Facilitate monthly S&OP meetings to review demand plans, production capacities, and inventory strategies.
  • Master Production Scheduling (MPS): Create and maintain the MPS to balance production capacity and customer demand.
  • Ensure alignment of the MPS with long-term business objectives and operational constraints.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules to address changes in demand or production issues.
  • Detailed Scheduling: Develop detailed production schedules to optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with operations and procurement to ensure materials and labor are available to meet schedules.
  • Analyze and resolve scheduling conflicts to maintain on-time delivery.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Reporting: Define, track, and report on KPIs related to production efficiency, on-time delivery, inventory levels, and other operational metrics.
  • Use data analytics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Present regular performance updates to management and stakeholders.
  • Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Manage the MRP system to ensure accurate planning of materials to meet production needs.
  • Work with procurement to address material shortages or excess inventory.
  • Capacity Planning: Analyze production capacity and recommend adjustments to labor, equipment, or processes as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support new product introductions and process changes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Identify and implement best practices in production planning and scheduling.
  • Drive process improvements to reduce lead times and improve service levels.
  • Collaboration: Act as a liaison between production, sales, engineering, and supply chain teams.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and proactive communication.
