About The Position

Do you take pride in a schedule that actually holds? If you love building a plan that production can execute - and you get more than a little satisfaction from spotting problems before anyone else sees them - this role was built for you. This isn’t a “release work orders and hope” job. This is a role for someone who protects the schedule, owns the plan, and acts early before the floor feels pain. If you thrive in high-accountability environments and like being the person who keeps operations stable when reality changes, keep reading. The Core Responsibility Your job exists for one reason: Turn the master production schedule into executable work - and keep it executable. That means validating material, routings, and capacity before release. It means actively managing work orders through completion. And it means adjusting the plan fast when constraints shift. You own the connection between what we promised customers - and what the shop can actually deliver. What You Will Do This is not a “set it and forget it” planning role. You will: Release work orders only when material, routing, and capacity support the schedule Monitor open work orders, shortages, late operations, and risk daily Identify schedule conflicts early and bring solutions - not surprises Re-prioritize work when facts change, not when shipments are already late Coordinate directly with purchasing, production, and leadership to clear constraints Support ramp-ups, engineering changes, and new product launches Maintain ERP discipline (BOMs, lead times, routings) because bad data kills good plans Measure success by schedule adherence, plan stability, and on-time delivery How You Think (This Matters More Than Your Resume) You’re a strong fit if your default mindset is: “If we don’t act today, this will miss next week.” “I see the constraint - here are two options and my recommendation.” “This looks fine in ERP, but the floor will struggle with it.” You’re comfortable: Making decisions with incomplete data Prioritizing under pressure Owning tradeoffs instead of escalating problems without solutions Being accountable when the plan fails - and adjusting fast What You Must Bring 2+ years in production planning or manufacturing operations Working knowledge of work orders, BOMs, lead times, and MRP logic Strong ERP and Excel skills High attention to detail and strong follow-through A mindset of owning outcomes, not just tasks Preferred Experience (Strong Advantage) Manufacturing environment experience Familiarity with kanban or reorder point planning systems Experience supporting ramp-ups or new product introductions (Candidates without this background should expect a steep learning curve and a high-accountability environment.) This Role Is Not for You If… You release work orders without validating feasibility You wait for perfect information before acting You treat all orders as equal, regardless of customer impact You rely on expediting instead of disciplined planning You believe missed schedules are “just part of manufacturing” You think your job ends when the work order is launched What Success Looks Like On-time delivery targets are consistently achieved Work orders support the master schedule - not fight it Fewer surprises, less firefighting, more plan stability Risks are surfaced early with mitigation plans Production, sales, and leadership trust the schedule Why RISE Armament RISE Armament builds precision firearm components for customers who demand reliability. We hold our planning and manufacturing operations to that same standard.
