The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working within an ERP-driven environment, is comfortable coordinating cross-functionally, and brings a strong sense of ownership in maintaining accurate planning data and workflows. This position reports to the Product Planning Manager and works closely with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Warehouse teams to keep orders moving and schedules on track.

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of experience in production planning, materials management, or a related manufacturing supply chain function.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, preferably Microsoft D365.
  • Understanding of BOM structures, inventory practices, and planning fundamentals (lead times, safety stock, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and an ability to work with data to support planning decisions.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset with willingness to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

  • Create, release, and maintain work orders based on MRP recommendations within Microsoft D365 (or similar ERP system).
  • Assist in building and updating short-term production schedules to support daily output targets and customer order requirements.
  • Review WIP progress, highlight potential delays, and communicate updates to supervisors and planners.
  • Monitor component availability and collaborate with Purchasing to address shortages or late supplier deliveries.
  • Perform work order transactions, including material issues, receipts, and closures, ensuring data accuracy in the ERP system.
  • Support inventory reviews and cycle count activities as needed.
  • Apply Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to active and future work orders.
  • Assist Engineering and Quality teams with BOM discrepancies and non-conforming material processes.
  • Maintain accurate planning parameters and system data to support reliable MRP outputs.
  • Review incoming sales orders and coordinate material availability checks to support accurate promise dates.
  • Work with Service and Warehouse teams to ensure all customer orders are prepared and shipped on time.
  • Help track open orders and follow up on actions needed to meet internal delivery commitments.
  • Participate in Lean and ISO9001-related activities aimed at improving planning accuracy, material flow, and inventory health.
  • Recommend incremental improvements to scheduling and planning procedures to strengthen workflow efficiency.
