About The Position

As a Production Operator at our Brand New (Premix) Animal Nutrition and Health location in Tonganoxie, KS, you will handle all production activities and operate production equipment in accordance with the plant capacity and in conformity with Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) requirements, SOP's, Quality standards and time sequences. Performs all duties associated with the production of custom vitamin premixes. Receives, unloads, stores, delivers and ships raw and finished materials. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience within premix, nutritional or pharmaceutical environment and forklift skills. At dsm-firmenich, being a force for good is not optional. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6+ months' production experience preferred, preferably in Premix, Nutritional supplements manufacturing or GMP related industry.
  • Ability to operate computers. Proficient in the use of MSOffice, Word, and Excel. Ability to use a Touch Screen.
  • Forklift experience preferred, Sit down, or Stand up. Also use Electric Pallet Jack.
  • Lift 50+ lbs. repetitively. Move bags and containers.
  • Knowledge of, adherence to and enforcement of dsm-firmenich Corporate policies addressing Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements.
  • Must be able to work weekends, overtime, and holidays as production demand requires including call-ins.

Responsibilities

  • Handle raw materials, transport from storage to intake stations, load raw materials as required into the process equipment utilizing different intake stations. Monitor and trouble shoot packaging systems. Additionally, Production Operator employees may be required to print labels, fill silos, complete final packaging, and sample per batch requirement, inspect both raw materials and finished goods as well as safely palletize and store raw materials and/or finished goods.
  • Able to work unsupervised at intake stations, utilize forklifts for materials transport and monitor packaging systems.
  • Monitor equipment and production process parameters, record process conditions and actions.
  • Report disturbances to the Lead Operator or Shift Manager and inform him/her about production process adjustments/concerns.
  • Take raw material and finished good samples and analyze these; decide on operational action to be taken.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks and provide support with larger maintenance work when requested, on equipment as necessary to ensure continuous efficient operation of process.
