About The Position

Aerofoam USA, LLC, located at 43 Commerce Drive in Abbeville, South Carolina, is a newly established, high-performance manufacturing facility specializing in thermal insulation solutions. We produce a wide range of insulation products including elastomeric, polyolefin, acoustic, and rubber-based materials designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and lower operational costs. The Production Operator – 1st Shift is responsible for running and monitoring equipment used in the manufacturing of elastomeric insulation materials. This includes rubber mixing, milling, extrusion, and curing/expansion operations. The ideal candidate has previous experience in rubber or plastics manufacturing and is committed to safety, quality, and efficiency on the plant floor.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Prior experience in rubber, plastics, or extrusion manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety rules, and production documents.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, and move materials throughout the shift.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with rubber compounding, kneading, milling, or foam extrusion processes.
  • Familiarity with basic quality checks (e.g., density, thickness, visual inspection).
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mixing, milling, or extrusion machinery according to standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor product quality and make minor adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Follow batch recipes, material handling procedures, and production schedules.
  • Perform routine checks on equipment and notify maintenance or supervisors of issues.
  • Accurately record production data, downtime, and material usage.
  • Ensure work area is clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and safety standards.
  • Assist in material changeovers, line startups, and shutdowns.
  • Handle raw materials and finished goods safely and efficiently.
  • Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives across the production line.
  • Follow safety protocols, wear required PPE, and report any incidents immediately.
