About The Position

Fenner Dunlop is looking for a Production Operator to join our Lavonia manufacturing team! Fenner Dunlop, a Michelin Group company, designs and manufactures the widest range of bulk material handling conveyor belts in the world. We strive to be the premier provider of the safest and most reliable conveyor belting and services to a variety of heavy industrial markets such as coal mining, hard rock mining, sand, gravel, wood handling, power generation, pulp and paper. Fenner Dunlop provides North American made belting, manufactured at our facilities located throughout the United States and Canada. For over 150 years, Fenner Dunlop has researched, designed, developed, manufactured, and tested its conveyor belting products, supporting nearly any type of conveyor application, and providing the right solutions to protect conveyor system investments in the harshest conveying environments. As the Production Operator at Fenner Dunlop, you’ll have to prepare and operate the equipment for yarn preparation.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work evening shifts, weekends, and/or overtime
  • Capable of being flexible and adaptable
  • Routinely stand, squat, and/or work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis

Nice To Haves

  • Previous textile manufacturing experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Patrol work area to identify defects in yarn quality through visual inspection and make corrections as necessary.
  • Verify proper machine set up recipes per schedule including proper ply, denier, yardage, etc.
  • Use proper creeling, splicing, and doffing procedures utilizing air/wrap splicers and/or powered industrial truck, pallet jack, and/or overhead crane.
  • Use proper Lockout Tagout procedures during any activity such as repairing, adjusting, lubricating or cleaning equipment.
  • Label finished product for proper identification for the next process.
  • Requires general use hand tools (wrenches, screw drivers, etc.) for machine setting and adjustments.
  • Complete shift inspection sheets on all utilized low level lifts to ensure mechanical safety.
  • Use proper flagging procedures for mechanical issues.
  • Record and report production related data in Epicor.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 5S procedure, rules, and regulations. Stage work areas for the organization of proper materials needed during the shift.
  • Use proper waste handling procedures so that at the end of the shift supplies are accurately in order for the following shift.
  • Maintain a good attendance record and adhere to the Attendance Policy. Adhere to Company Handbook, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist other members as needed. Assist in training other team members.
  • Follow all operating and safety procedures at all times.
  • Alert Management of any unsafe condition.
  • Perform any other task deemed necessary.
