About The Position

The Production Operator – Packaging and Assembly is a key member of EKI’s manufacturing team, responsible for supporting the preparation, filling, labeling, and packaging of finished goods according to written batch instructions and safety procedures. Operators perform hands-on work throughout the production process — handling materials, assembling packaging components, and ensuring all products meet strict quality and labeling standards. Depending on the production schedule, assignments may include filling and labeling containers, assembling packaging material, or preparing finished goods for shipment. This role requires attention to detail, physical activity, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, routinely lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain reliable attendance and transportation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic math, reading, and documentation skills required.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for an 8-hour shift.
  • Must be comfortable working with chemicals using personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

  • One to two years of manufacturing, packaging, or production experience preferred (chemical or regulated industry experience a plus).
  • Forklift experience preferred; training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production and packaging activities in accordance with batch records, work instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and handle materials to ensure proper fill levels and packaging integrity.
  • Operate semi-automatic filling, capping, and labeling equipment — performing each step of the process to ensure containers are properly filled, sealed, and identified.
  • Assemble and prepare packaging components (such as containers, labels, and outer cartons) for production use.
  • Inspect filled containers and assembled products for cleanliness, proper labeling, and accurate identification before final packaging.
  • Safely handle and move materials using pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company safety policies.
  • Record batch and material data accurately for traceability.
  • Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and cleaning between production runs.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality Control, and Shipping teams to meet daily output and quality objectives.
