About The Position

At Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, the Supply Chain team is dedicated to delivering innovative, affordable, and agile solutions to customers. This role is for a Manufacturing Manager within the C130 Wing shop build areas. The manager will lead associate managers, supervisors, manufacturing support personnel, and structural mechanics in the production of C-130 Wing Assemblies. The position involves managing various aspects of production, ensuring adherence to company policies, and driving performance in safety, quality, schedule, and cost.

Requirements

  • Experience leading teams in Manufacturing Operations or Production Operations environment
  • Experience with project management
  • Technical experience and root cause analysis tools (RCCA) or similar, to resolve engineering, planning, tooling and assembly problems

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree with 15 years relevant experience, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • 5+ years effectively using technical experience and root cause analysis tools to resolve engineering, planning, tooling and assembly problems
  • Aerospace production build and structure work experience; C-130 preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage safety, quality, schedule, and cost
  • Experience with training and course development
  • Experience in resource management (projects, employees, and schedules)
  • Microsoft Office Suite and able to generate spreadsheets, performance metrics, data analysis, presentations, and project summaries
  • Experience creating, utilizing, and reporting on metrics related to Production Performance and Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, including Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC); Green or Black belt preferred
  • Excellent Communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) to enable effective collaboration with technical support team, build team and internal/external customers.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering designs and models, production specifications, and planning instructions
  • Experience in regulated production environment, AS9100 preferred
  • Experience with SFM, QADS, STK, AMS, SAP navigation, VAS, PDM and cost management skills
  • Experience leading and facilitating groups through data and feedback driven analysis to improve, optimize, and stabilize production output
  • Experience In FLEMOS, and FLEMOS related tools

Responsibilities

  • Leads associate managers, supervisors, manufacturing support personnel, and structural mechanics in the production of C-130 Wing Assemblies.
  • Assigns work priority to bargaining unit labor resources, manufacturing planning, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, production control, and inspection.
  • Assures the timeliness and accuracy of aircraft records.
  • Manages direct, indirect, and allocated business unit budgets.
  • Uses earned value management tools to manage production task execution.
  • Coordinates employee recruitment, training, performance, and work assignments.
  • Ensures adherence to company and C-130 Program policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for work group performance to targets associated with employee safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Responsible for work group performance to core processes.
  • Responsible for coordination with Manufacturing Engineering to provide appropriate technical input to employees; staffing line analysis and planning; and performing annual salaried performance assessments.
  • Ensures product meets inspection requirements.
  • Ensures tooling, workplace layouts, and staffing are aligned with quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Identifies and implements changes to improve safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Responsible for ensuring FOD, tooling, housekeeping, and 6S requirements are met and adhered to.
  • Ensures certification of employees who perform certification-required tasks.
  • Provides a safe working environment and takes timely corrective action to correct unsafe conditions.
