The Precision Meso-scale Technology Center (PMTC) provides high-precision mechanical solutions that enable Keysight’s industry-leading electronic measurement systems. The Manufacturing Operations Manager leads day-to-day manufacturing operations for a precision machining environment, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-time delivery of products. This role balances strategic planning with hands-on leadership, driving execution across production, quality, people development, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience, preferably in precision machining.
  • Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality systems, and KPI-based management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage production schedules to meet customer demand, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor capacity, workflow, and schedule adherence; adjust priorities as needed.
  • Lead and develop supervisors, machinists, technicians, and support staff.
  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and internal quality systems.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives using data-driven KPIs (e.g., yield, scrap, defects).
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and uptime for CNC and inspection equipment.
  • Enforce safety programs and OSHA compliance; lead safety audits and training.
  • Track equipment performance and safety metrics.
  • Oversee inventory management and shipping execution.
  • Communicate production status and delivery expectations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track on-time delivery and lead-time performance.
