About The Position

The Production Material Handler shall follow all relevant working procedures, provide extrusion/fabrication with necessary materials, maintain neat/organized finished goods warehouse. The shift for this position is Thursday-Saturday from 7am-7pm. At Hamilton Kent, we pride ourselves in being a company that is both a challenging and rewarding place to work. Requirements

  • Good communication skills
  • Good mathematical skill
  • Basic High School English requirements
  • Forklift training and Raymond Reach training
  • Able to regularly encounter differing complex problems, which requires judgement to analyze and identify alternative course of action where established procedures / polices may not exist.
  • Work involves non-routine tasks that normally require different and unrelated methods within authorized limits.
  • Could encounter material management issues.
  • Through prior exposure, experience and established procedures/policies can determine the most appropriate course of action.
  • Interacts daily with Distribution Supervisor and Supervisors/lead hands/operators
  • The person shall spend 100% on the floor.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain pick list from Production Supervisor
  • Load/unload trucks as required
  • Make sure that strip material is used on “First in - First out” basis
  • Retrieve extruded material from storage and deliver to the workstation
  • Retrieve part crates/boxes from storage and deliver to the workstation
  • Make sure offline cutter is constantly supplied with material
  • Move finished skids to from “Temporary Hold Area” area for final inspection
  • Move Q.A. released material from “Temporary Hold Area” to warehouse transition area for allocation
  • Make sure that all finished products are warehoused according to “First in – First out” procedure
  • Make sure that the silicone tote is properly maintained and emptied
  • Ensure that the Disposition, Temporary and Permanent Hold and Strip Stock area are properly maintained and coordinated
  • Document and record all required information
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Other specialized functions when they are needed
  • Adhere to all pertinent federal, provincial and local health and safety legislative requirements
  • Comply with Hamilton Kent’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy as well as relevant procedures and safety rules.
