About The Position

The person in this position will be heavily involved in the day to day receipt and inspection of corrugate inner boxes at the Chicago Heights, IL bakery as a primary function. This person will be working in tandem with the QA Management to ensure all parameters of the inspection are being met as required. In between receiving inspections, when a delivery is not scheduled, this position will apply basic skills in the production line to ensure that product meets company specifications, ensure that job duties that affect safety, legality and quality standards are addressed. Perform duties and tasks routinely. Adapts techniques to meet special needs, and apply basic skills to ensure that product meets company specification. Responsible for the incoming component inspections upon receipt at Chicago Heights, IL bakery. Utilizing Standard Operating Procedures detailing all quality paramaeters to guide inspections. Responsible for identifying discrepancies of incoming components that do not meet quality parameters. Responsible to effectively communicate with the FSQA management team the results of the inspections. Responsible for accurate documentation of the inspections on excel spreadsheet as well as paper documentation. Responsible for placing on hold / releasing from hold in the inventory system any inspection that is deemed unacceptable. Responsible for maintaining email communication / 2-way radio with the management team with full information regarding details of each component inspection. Responsible for re-stacking, shrink wrapping, and re-banding inspected pallets. This position is scheduled during receiving hours between Monday through Friday. Sign in and out on your line staffing sheet and at main entrance Be at your work station on time Do not leave work station unattended or until relieved. If you must leave notify a Supervisor or lead Work safely, use floor mats Follow all Food Safety and GMP policies. Remove any visual small, large, dark, light and deformed pieces then place in inedible bin. Report any dough pieces that may visually contain foreign material Inform Crew Lead and Production Supervisor any time you must leave the line Ensures compliance with production/packaging procedure/practices as well as inspecting all areas within the manufacturing line for any operational and/or mechanical issues as well as taking corrective action and/or notifying supervision and/or management Maintain line speed/standards Supports quality control programs to ensure production procedures are in compliance with best practices food safety and quality standards. Ensure quality and consistency of product during processing Pick product and place on conveyor and place in cases,make boxes, close boxes,working in palletizing, stacking cases on pallets, working at the cutter returning dough, helping the Operator on the sheeter line ,scaling, dosing ingridents, helping dispose waste in the bakery feed, working in rework Expected to work in other areas/departments as needed as well as other duited assigned by manger/supervisor ; for example be a spotter on the Production line. Report any issues regarding food safety or quality to supervision and/or quality assurance. Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate attention.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA)
  • Material Handler Experience
  • Heavy Material Handling Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
