About The Position

Logos Space is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite system purpose-built to serve the connectivity needs of the commercial enterprise users and government users. We will help fill an important gap in the market, providing resilient, high-performance satellite-based connectivity services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. Business customers have contracts with agreed-upon performance standards for their broadband, and Logos will build these capabilities into the system from the beginning. Speed and reliability are the foundation of the system. Logos is designed to extend cloud and data center network connectivity anywhere in the world to fixed, seaborne, and airborne terminals. Logos is led by a team of highly experienced engineers with proven track records in the networking and satellite industries. Position Summary & Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Manufacturing Lead to oversee the manufacturing execution of our cutting-edge Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite payload and ground terminal systems. This is a critical operations role, responsible for ensuring that all production processes, documentation, and process flows are optimized for low-cost, high-rate manufacturing at our external Contract Manufacturers (CMs). The successful candidate will manage the transition of highly complex electrical systems—including power, networking, RF, baseband processing, and phased array antenna systems—from design to full-scale production. This role also involves close collaboration with an external satellite bus partner to ensure seamless integration of the payload systems into the final satellite vehicle. You should be prepared to work and thrive in a fast moving environment where you are comfortable taking vague requirements and direction and executing on the Logos product mission. We are seeking people who love to solve hard problems, have a bias for action and extreme task ownership.

Requirements

  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline with equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production engineering, or in an operations role for complex electrical or aerospace hardware.
  • Proven experience managing external Contract Manufacturers (CMs) for high-volume production.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with SMT (Surface Mount Technology), complex electromechanical assembly, and production-level test processes for electrical equipment.
  • Experience in developing and deploying manufacturing documentation, process flows, and Work Instructions (WIs).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in high-rate manufacturing environments (e.g., aerospace, defense, automotive, or high-volume electronics).
  • Direct experience with the manufacturing and/or integration of satellite systems, RF/microwave electronics, or ground terminal equipment.
  • Deep understanding of quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) and experience implementing them in a production setting.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex) for managing production data, BOMs, and traceability.
  • Familiarity with systems involving complex power management, network architectures, and advanced antenna technologies (like Phased Arrays).
  • Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Strategy & Execution: Define, develop, and implement the manufacturing strategy for LEO satellite payloads and ground terminal systems to achieve high volume, low-cost production goals.
  • CM Management: Serve as the primary manufacturing interface with external Contract Manufacturers (CMs), monitoring performance, ensuring process adherence, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Process Development & Optimization: Develop, deploy, and maintain robust manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process flows (including SMT, complex assembly, and production test) that meet quality and rate requirements.
  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Partner closely with Engineering teams (Electrical, Mechanical, RF, Systems) to influence product design, ensuring manufacturability, testability, and cost-efficiency (DFM/DFT/DFA).
  • Integration Management: Collaborate with an external satellite bus partner to develop, document, and maintain the process flows for seamlessly integrating the complex payload systems into the satellite bus vehicle.
  • Yield & Quality Improvement: Analyze manufacturing data (yields, cycle times, non-conformance reports) to identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions across the CM and internal processes.
  • Production Readiness: Drive Material Readiness Reviews (MRR) and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR) to ensure all components, tooling, documentation, and processes are in place for successful production ramps.
  • Tooling & Equipment: Define requirements for and oversee the deployment of necessary manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) at the CM.
  • Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to relevant industry standards, quality management systems (e.g., AS9100), and regulatory requirements for space hardware.
