The Production Manager is responsible for hiring, training, motivating, counseling, and monitoring the performance of all fleet in-service department staff to ensure productivity, quality workmanship, and adherence to company standards. This role includes directing and scheduling the daily activities of department employees to maintain efficient workflow and timely job completion. Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs to verify thoroughness, accuracy, and quality, ensuring all work meets company and original equipment (OE) provider standards. Produces, maintains, and reviews operational reports as required by the Operations Manager and OE providers to monitor departmental performance and identify areas for improvement. Participates in managers’ meetings and leads regular departmental meetings to communicate expectations, review performance, and promote engagement among staff. Monitors departmental performance through reporting tools, tracking systems, and customer feedback, promptly reporting performance concerns or operational issues to the Operations Manager. Fosters a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration within the department and across all other departments, supporting company values and maintaining a positive working environment. Maintains current knowledge of and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, CSA, and Right-to-Know requirements. Ensures accountability for all required documentation, confirming that records are complete, accurate, and processed according to company procedures. Facilitates and conducts job-specific training and coordinates external training opportunities as needed to support employee development and technical growth. Reviews technicians’ daily productivity reports and verifies payroll-related records to ensure accuracy and alignment with performance expectations. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with customers to promote repeat business and referrals, contributing to long-term customer retention. Ensures all department tools and equipment remain in safe working order and meet the requirements of new products and services. Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company safety standards. Serves as the primary liaison between the department and factory representatives to address product concerns, technical updates, and operational needs. Responds promptly to customer concerns in accordance with operational guidelines and maintains full responsibility for the Customer Experience Management survey platform to support the highest level of customer satisfaction. Leads facility safety initiatives by conducting monthly safety meetings, addressing identified risks, and proactively resolving potential safety concerns to maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
