About The Position

The Production Manager will report to the Plant Manager and will provide leadership to the day-to-day operation in our Machesney Park, IL plant. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, developing team members, and ensuring the manufacture of high-quality, value-added products. This role will ensure that production goals are met, and the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency are maintained. The Production Manager will act as a continuous improvement champion and develop strategies to optimize production processes while leading and developing a dedicated team. Lead a strong safety culture by ensuring team awareness, proper training, adherence to procedures, and compliance with OSHA and company standards. Monitor and control production costs, ensuring alignment with short and long-term financial objectives. Create and foster a team focusing on total throughput and customer interface, as necessary. Effectively lead and develop staff by establishing strong working relationships, evaluating performance, and coaching team members to develop their capabilities. Lead problem-solving teams to address production issues and improve processes. Oversee non-conforming product process, ensuring first-time quality and adherence to daily production schedules. Collaborate with customers, suppliers, employees, and all levels of management to address and resolve production-related issues. Maintain compliance with all ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OH&S Standards, ensuring quality and environmental management systems are upheld. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with manufacturing technology tools, including ERP systems for production orders, purchasing, and item setup.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and quality systems (e.g., Six Sigma).
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with customers, suppliers, employees, and all levels of management.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and follow‑through skills.
  • Ability to effectively lead problem-solving teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in metal fastening manufacturing preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and OH&S Standards, preferred but not required.
