Job Overview: As a Production Manager for Hoffman Landscapes, you have approximately 10 crews that you are responsible for. Your job is to help each crew achieve expert level quality and efficiency and deliver best-in-class customer service. You hire and train the crews, schedule the work, visit sites where quality and efficiency need attention, and you resolve issues as quickly as possible. Your attention to detail, constant communication, and especially your thoughtfulness builds trust and creates strong relationships with your crews…and it shows in the work they do for our clients. You work in a team environment. Hoffman’s Client Representatives are the primary point of contact for each customer, and you are the primary point of contact for each crew. Through constant communication and partnership, you deliver the great service that keeps our customers coming back year after year.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in landscaping or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proficient in landscape maintenance, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, including mowing, clean ups, lawn care, lawn renovation, tree and shrub care, plant bed and garden maintenance, plant identification, container gardening, and irrigation systems.
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate a team, resolve conflicts, and maintain morale.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with Client Reps, team members, and suppliers. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships with internal and external associates.
  • Ability to quickly assess issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple crews, properties, and deadlines.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to resolve client concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • High level of precision to ensure quality standards are met throughout the season.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, operate landscaping machinery, and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in landscape design, horticulture, or related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Aspire or similar landscape business management software is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) or Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of maintenance services, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Supervise and manage crew members, including hiring, assigning tasks, providing training, completing employee reviews, and ensuring safety protocols and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate equipment, materials, and labor to ensure the availability of resources and proper usage.
  • Ensure services delivered remain within budget constraints by managing costs, crew hours, and resources effectively. Assist in preparation of contract estimates when necessary. Meet weekly with to present and review crew hours performance.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality in maintenance services, ensuring client expectations and company standards are met. Meet weekly with Client Rep and Branch Director to review quality assessments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed maintenance service schedule, adjusting as necessary based on weather conditions, resource availability, or other factors. Meet weekly with Branch Director to review present prepared schedule.
  • Communicate with Client Reps to understand property needs, address any concerns, and provide feedback towards upsell potential or changes in scope.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement measures to minimize risk for crew members and clients.
  • Assist with budget preparation including hourly rates for crew members, vehicles and equipment needed, materials and subcontractor pricing, etc. Provide feedback to Branch Director regarding cost estimates and production factors.
