About The Position

The Production Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring that injection molding operations run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company goals for quality, delivery, and cost. This position plans, organizes, and controls production activities within a high-volume injection molding environment to meet customer demand while optimizing labor, materials, and equipment resources. The Production Manager directly oversees all manufacturing supervisors, ensuring consistent application of standard operating procedures, adherence to quality and safety standards, and a culture of continuous improvement. This leader drives results through data and accountability, developing and sustaining KPIs across Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost. The Production Manager fosters collaboration across departments, leads daily execution against the production schedule, and ensures operational excellence through strong leadership, structured problem-solving, and commitment to 6S practices.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and experience in injection molding production and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of raw materials, material flow, and scrap reduction.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.
  • Experience implementing process improvement and Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of business, finance, and management principles.
  • Understanding of human resource principles and supervisory practices.
  • Knowledge of machines, molds, and tools used in injection molding.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, including experience with Lean or Six Sigma techniques.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead, influence, delegate, and build collaboration among teams.
  • Results-driven, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques required.
  • Injection molding experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing environment managing production supervisors and hourly teams required.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and control the production schedule, coordinating with Planning, Maintenance, Tooling, and Processing teams.
  • Review and adjust the schedule as needed to meet production and delivery goals.
  • Develop, manage, and sustain KPIs that drive results across Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost Control.
  • Manage human and material resources to meet production targets.
  • Make decisions regarding equipment use, maintenance, modification, and procurement.
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production operations.
  • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Set and maintain product quality standards, ensuring products meet customer and regulatory specifications.
  • Implement and monitor quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
  • Analyze production and quality data to detect and correct issues in real time.
  • Determine and implement improvements to the production process to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and records.
  • Monitor and review staff performance and organize necessary interventions for improvement.
  • Establish and manage production budgets and implement cost-control measures.
  • Ensure effective collaboration and communication between departments to support overall plant goals.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within the production team, coaching and engaging hourly employees.
  • Maintain ownership of 6S, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organization in all areas of responsibility.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
