Caterpillar is seeking a Production Manager in North Little Rock, AR. In this role, you will lead part of a dedicated team in the production of Motor Grader and Medium Wheel Loader products that help our customers build a better world! Inside the 725,000 square-foot, air-conditioned, facility you will work with a team hourly production and management to complete daily build requirements. Monitor and improve safety on the shop floor, eliminating any unsafe operations and ensuring a safe and clean product environment. Communicate with team daily to designate workload, priorities and sequence for work assigned. Collaborate with support teams and peers to train and develop staff; keep time; estimate personnel needs; assign work, meet completion dates; and ensure consistent application of organizational needs; evaluate overtime needs; determine when disciplinary action is necessary. Manage Continuous Improvement idea process to change working conditions as required. Drive root cause corrective action projects and continuous improvement Work to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value-added activities. Ensure the quality of product produced and conforms to Caterpillars Quality Policy while maintaining cost. Be responsible for initiatives within your assigned team to enable 6S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, CQMS (Caterpillar Quality Management System)/ISO certification programs.

Requirements

  • Analytical Thinking : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience in a Manufacturing, Logistics, Engineering or Quality environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety and the ability to identify hazards and provide solutions
  • Knowledge of quality management methods, tools and techniques
  • Strong customer focus and ability to influence and direct hourly direct reports.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office 365 products.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
