Requirements

  • Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to some of the skills listed
  • 7 years supervisory/management experience, or at least 10 years related supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • The delivery and consumption of 5 – 10MM tons annually of PRB to operate 2 once-through boilers capable of producing 1000 MW of electrical generation to the PJM grid.
  • Removal and handling of 500,000 to 1,500,000 tons of bi-products annually. Included in the responsibilities is the overall maintenance coordination required for the boilers, draft and combustion equipment, fuel handling equipment, and bi-product removal equipment
  • All of these activities involve closely monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Overall Responsibility for a Plant within the regional fleet.
  • Provide management and direction of safety, environmental and regulatory compliance, operation, maintenance, technical and engineering support, long and short range planning, O&M Resource Plan, project management/contractor management, staffing, employee/team development, employee/labor relations, communication and community relations.
  • Manage department to comply with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Meet or exceed department goals
  • Develop and adhere to department budget.
  • Select, develop and manage a diverse workforce.
  • Effectively collaborate with applicable internal and external business partners.
  • Effectively administer company policies, labor agreements and work rules.
  • The Production Manager has direct supervision for 5-10 Luminant Exempt and Non-exempt employees, indirect supervision for 50-100 Luminant Exempt, Non-exempt and Bargaining Unit employees and coordination of Business Partners responsible for fuel and bi-product hauling and work associated with spoil leveling and overburden stripping activities. This direct and indirect supervision involves managing personnel issues such as ongoing training, time off, discipline and overtime scheduling, and requires knowledge and understanding of local bargaining unit contracts
