Duties & Functions: Manage inventory of wean and feeder hogs as well as gilts and culls by planning animal movements within The Maschhoffs system and through the purchase and/or sale of animals to/from external companies Manage the full cycle of inventory flow planning, including building and communicating plans, altering as needed, and monitoring the execution of movement plans Provide inventory and space projections, utilized in flow inventory and space planning, to facilitate system balancing of yardage cost, health stability, freight cost and target weight. Prepare and update system-wide logistics schedules to ensure proper deliveries of pigs to production facilities, maintaining farm and transport biosecurity measures. Assist in the weekly scheduling of cull sows to maximize revenue while adhering to biosecurity needs of breed-to-wean facilities. Plan and execute changes within the standard planning timeline and escalate near deadline changes with recommendations to leadership. Prepare and communicate plan summaries, transport schedules, and key reporting items such as yardage metrics to optimize yardage, reduce costs and drive revenue. Provide after hours on-call support for Supply Management & Logistics Emergency Hotline Track and report performance metrics and analyze root cause of discrepancies providing improvements to planning and optimization; cultivate innovation with tool development and process improvement. Leverage system guidelines and principles when planning to maintain expectations and measure success Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of: Production & Inventory Management Materials and Capacity Planning Data Entry and Validation Skill in: Microsoft Office with Intermediate to Advanced proficiency Clear and concise verbal and written communication Providing professional assistance via phone & email Attention to detail Organizational and time management Planning and scheduling in a supply chain environment Ability to: Incorporate educated decisions on planning and daily tasks Manage ambiguity Perform duties outside typical work hours when necessary, including rotating weekends Work both independently and as a member of a team Multitask under pressure of deadlines Balance stakeholders with competing needs and priorities Collaborate with leadership and various internal departments to increase business acumen, drive performance results, and advance transparency.
