You will: Adhere to Fisher Barton Safety and Quality procedures and regulations and business code of ethics Work closely with others to assure compliance with the established Manufacturing Procedures Initiate and maintain ongoing and consistent communication with Plant leadership Work as a producing team member in at least one Production area Participate in and lead formal Continuous Improvement teams Train Production team members in the use of LEAN tools Manage Gemba data and lead Gemba walks driving communication and improvements Establish expectations of workmanship and monitor work in process to ensure quality and productivity requirements are being met Assist in identifying processes that are out of conformance, and investigate issues related to safety, quality, or other incidents and take appropriate action to eliminate Act as a technical and interpersonal resource for department employees Review processes and departmental layout to assure lowest production costs and highest shop labor efficiency Support the hiring process, providing input on hiring, and conducting new hire orientation training Lead employees: Assure work assignments are being completed effectively, assist employees to resolve production problems, maintain accurate time records, ensure all employees have current and necessary training, maintain an orderly and safe work environment Serve as a role model for operators in safety, quality, attendance, conduct, performance, efficiency, following policies, rules, and meeting expectations Help resolve employee problems and administer discipline within corporate guidelines Initiate and maintain ongoing and consistent communication with the Production Manager Employing strict 5S practices to maintain a clean working environment at all times The above statements are intended only to describe the general nature of the job and should not be construed as an all-inclusive list of position responsibilities.
