About The Position

The Production Lead will serve as the liaison between frontline production employees and supervision/management, ensuring that daily operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production goals, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of proven knowledge or experience in a production or lead production role.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, equipment, and safety requirements.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use a pallet jack, forklift, and other basic warehouse equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, allergen control).
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, production specifications, and SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist supervision/management in overseeing day-to-day operations of assigned work area to meet production goals related to output, quality, and efficiency.
  • Serve as the go-to person for operational decisions during the shift and communicate instructions clearly to team members.
  • Lead a team of production workers to execute daily production schedules on time and with minimal waste.
  • Ensure proper line setup, changeovers, and shutdown procedures are followed.
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues related to equipment, personnel, or materials.
  • Assist management in enforcement and strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP protocols, and food safety regulations.
  • Monitor production areas to ensure cleanliness, proper hygiene, and compliance with allergen control procedures.
  • Ensure product meets all quality specifications and report any deviations immediately.
  • Oversee product changeovers and ensure correct materials, labels, and settings are used.
  • Lead shift changeovers and communicate key information to incoming/outgoing shifts.
  • Support traceability by ensuring accurate documentation of lot numbers, production times, and line parameters.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for line personnel, and escalating production concerns to supervision.
  • Train new employees and cross-train team members to enhance flexibility and performance.
  • Help management in promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including counts, scrap, warehouse placement, and process deviations.
