About The Position

The Production Lead plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the retail store by assisting the Store Manager in achieving production goals. This position is responsible for guiding and motivating associates to meet daily processing targets, ensuring quality standards are maintained, and fostering a positive and productive work environment aligned with Goodwill’s mission.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; internal applicants may submit proof of enrollment into a GED program
  • 2 years prior supervisory experience in a retail or related environment or 2 years’ experience working in a Goodwill of the Chesapeake retail associate role required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.
  • Ability to complete tasks and assignments with numerous interruptions and little direct supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and on the telephone
  • Ability to provide and understand verbal instructions
  • Commitment to team building and improvement processes
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Weekend availability (both Saturday and Sunday) is an essential requirement of this role to be fully staffed to meet customer demand.
  • Reliable transportation for each scheduled shift is highly important.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in planning and organizing daily production activities.
  • Monitor and support associates in meeting individual and team production goals for sorting, pricing, and stocking merchandise.
  • Provide hands-on training and coaching to new and existing team members.
  • Ensure merchandise is processed efficiently and meets quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of production metrics and report progress to management.
  • Help manage workflow and prioritize tasks to meet store needs.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and leadership to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by answering questions and helping.
  • Support the Store Manager with inventory control and loss prevention efforts.
  • Uphold Goodwill’s values and customer service standards in all interactions.
  • All other essential duties as assigned.
