About The Position

The Production Lead is a key member of the plastic pallet manufacturing team, acting as a bridge between team members and the Production Supervisor. This role involves overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed, meeting production goals, and maintaining a smooth workflow. The Production Lead also serves as a backup supervisor, taking on leadership responsibilities when the Production Supervisor is unavailable.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in plastic pallet production.
Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Knowledge of safety regulations and manufacturing best practices.
Proficient in troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Familiarity with production software and data tracking tools.

Responsibilities

Assist the Production Supervisor in coordinating and managing daily operations within the production team.
Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure proper procedures and standards are followed.
Act as the primary point of contact for team members, addressing questions, concerns, and challenges in real time.
Step into a supervisory role as needed, ensuring continuity of operations.
Enforce compliance with all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Conduct regular safety checks and address any potential hazards immediately.
Participate in safety training sessions and ensure team members are adequately trained.
Report safety incidents or violations promptly and assist in implementing corrective actions.
Assist in planning and scheduling daily production tasks to meet operational goals and deadlines.
Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve productivity.
Ensure all equipment and tools are in proper working condition and report any maintenance issues.
Conduct quality checks on products to ensure they meet company standards.
Track and document production metrics, including output, downtime, and waste, to support process improvement initiatives.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, materials used and finished products.
Communicate production status and issues to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner.
Identify and resolve production-related issues efficiently to minimize disruptions.
Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to develop and implement process improvements.
Encourage team feedback and innovation to optimize production processes.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with 5S principles.
Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
