About The Position

The Production Lead is a key member of the plastic pallet manufacturing team, acting as a bridge between team members and the Production Supervisor. This role involves overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed, meeting production goals, and maintaining a smooth workflow. The Production Lead also serves as a backup supervisor, taking on leadership responsibilities when the Production Supervisor is unavailable.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in plastic pallet production.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and manufacturing best practices.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with production software and data tracking tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Production Supervisor in coordinating and managing daily operations within the production team.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to ensure proper procedures and standards are followed.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for team members, addressing questions, concerns, and challenges in real time.
  • Step into a supervisory role as needed, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Enforce compliance with all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and address any potential hazards immediately.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and ensure team members are adequately trained.
  • Report safety incidents or violations promptly and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling daily production tasks to meet operational goals and deadlines.
  • Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve productivity.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are in proper working condition and report any maintenance issues.
  • Conduct quality checks on products to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Track and document production metrics, including output, downtime, and waste, to support process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, materials used and finished products.
  • Communicate production status and issues to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Identify and resolve production-related issues efficiently to minimize disruptions.
  • Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Encourage team feedback and innovation to optimize production processes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with 5S principles.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
