About The Position

At Häns Kissle, we strive to deliver the simple goodness of home in every bite. Founded in 1984, Häns Kissle began as the regional commissary for a small, high-end grocery chain in New England, MA, crafting fresh, upscale prepared foods and deli salads. Nearly 40 years later, we’re still in the kitchen in our 112,000 square foot facility, cooking up delicious foods with an uncompromising commitment to quality and service but now on a national level. PURPOSE: Reporting to the department supervisor, the Production Lead supports a team of employees practicing and monitoring food quality standards and safe operations. Plays a pivotal role in our manufacturing team, serving as a bridge between management and frontline workers. Assists in communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team. Directs and supports all processing personnel within designated lines. Motivates team members and assists in day-to-day tasks for the department. Serves as the first point of contact to team members to discuss technical and process concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with advanced technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a track record of leadership and team supervision.
  • Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Must have a great “can do” attitude.
  • Outstanding problem-solving resolution, willing to lead by example.
  • Take initiative and works well independently.
  • High personal ethical standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address production challenges.
  • Technical skills
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Good soft skills and problem resolution experience. Willing to lead by example.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to push/pull carts weighing 700 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
  • Must be able to work in cold environments and on concrete floors. (As low as 32 degrees)
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing for prolonged periods.
  • Work in a noisy environment.
  • Basic understanding of safety regulations and protocols.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Food manufacturing and leadership experience a plus
  • Forklift certification (if applicable) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Follow all steps of production through finished goods to achieve each phase meets or exceeds customer and regulatory requirements for quality, food safety and plant safety processes.
  • Coordinate daily production activities, including scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and allocating resources effectively to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Meet or exceed productivity on assigned lines per daily production schedule.
  • Line reporting and documentation
  • Document proper temperature checks on products
  • Communicate with Quality Control relative to out of spec products or packaging.
  • Review of product/packaging specifications prior to each production run
  • Ensure line is running efficiently and effectively utilizing GMP’s to maintain quality products and packaging manufactured in a safe environment and meeting targeted requirements.
  • Train and direct production employees for operation of production lines
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and accountability.
  • Contact maintenance as necessary for repairs and adjustments.
  • Assist on the line as required to achieve goals.
