About The Position

Job Description: Directly responsible for assisting in the daily operations of our production departments. Meeting facility goals regarding safety, quality, and on-time delivery of products from one department to the next.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous leadership experience desirable
  • Working knowledge of all processes and procedures required to perform all functions within the department.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

  • High focus on employee development and process adherence within Composites and the Pulling department.
  • Communicate information to employees within the department and to Composites leadership.
  • Work with Composites leadership to promote current quality initiatives and minimize downstream defects.
  • Drive the daily operational duties of the department to meet production demand.
  • Maintains standardized methods of operation for the department.
  • Facilitate the flow of communication between managers and down to employees concerning matters of importance.
  • Participate in implementing new manufacturing processes, products, and systems technology to meet operational goals.
  • Coordinate the delivery and disposal of chemicals and supplies.
  • Work to achieve a “zero defect” in manufacturing operations, keeping delinquencies at or below the facility goal.
  • Participate in employment-related issues concerning hiring, training, appraising, or counseling as appropriate; escalate issues to the next leadership level when appropriate.
  • Support all safety initiatives and maintain a high awareness of safety in the facility.
  • Complies with all OSHA and safety procedures.
  • Sets an example of positive behaviors expected from team members.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Interacts with the management of hazardous waste throughout the facility, and understand that they must comply with Safety and Environmental compliance with the requirements of applicable portions of CFR 40 (Resource Conservation Recovery Act) for handling of Hazardous Waste.
  • They have been provided RCRA and Department of Transportation (initially and annually) training to ensure understanding and conformance with handling and offering of hazardous waste.
  • Daily activities include, but are not limited to, puncturing aerosol cans into Hazardous waste satellite approved containers, picking up satellite hazardous waste throughout the facility to bring to the 90 day hazardous waste accumulation center.
  • Loading hazardous waste to the approved Treatment and Storage carrier/truck in accordance with CFR 49.”
