About The Position

Under supervision, bake, prepare and cook a variety of ready to serve food for Boardwalk restaurant locations. Maintain highest standards of food safety, consistency and quality. Clean and maintain work area and equipment.

Requirements

  • Some experience in commercial cooking and volume food preparation is desirable.
  • Ability to follow all food safety regulation and controls.
  • Ability to use knife and be proficient in knife techniques.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to read and apply recipes.
  • Ability to perform repetitive work such as slicing and dicing.
  • Ability to use proper back safety procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to quickly learn methods for using various equipment: slicer, steamer and commercial ovens.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to clean work areas effectively.
  • Ability to handle high volume production.
  • Ability to be safety conscious for self and others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to comply with all food service departmental and company policies.
  • Ability to obtain CA Food Handler card within 30 days of hire.
  • Able to perform physically demanding work: walking, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying and stocking materials.
  • Able to work in a noisy and fast past environment.
  • Able to hear normal conversation on the telephone and in person.
  • Able to see and read documents.
  • Able to climb stairs.
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground to waist.
  • Bi-manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every Guest and answer Guest's questions and provide consistent, friendly and helpful Guest Service.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items including deli sandwiches, turkey legs, salads, baked goods and party trays.
  • Provide consistent preparation and presentation of food items.
  • Ensure that food displayed is rotated following FIFO (First-In-First-Out).
  • Deliver food orders to restaurant locations by required timelines.
  • Plan daily and have products available to prepare for next day.
  • Fill food production request accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety.
  • Maintain an official Temperature Log.
  • Follow all food and equipment safety practices.
  • Communicate observations in regards to food waste and product demand.
  • Clean equipment and work area.
  • Complete closing checklist and daily break sheet before end of shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
