Job Responsibilities: This position functions as a shop assistant, responsible for learning manufacturing and prototype concepts. The role includes providing housekeeping duties as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate machines as qualified. Lift, position, and remove workpieces from machines to assist with fitting and welding. Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, dies, and work in process manually or using a truck. Clean and scrape metal surfaces for fabrication, welding, painting, or shipping. Pick up scrap from work areas. Maintain a clean work environment with machines, tools, and equipment. Load and unload production machinery following posted instructions. Conduct visual safety inspections at the start of each shift and record findings. Report any abnormality in parts or machinery to the Supervisor or Lead hand. Support changes to machines or jobs as directed by the Supervisor or Lead hand. Address any other reasonable requests from Supervisor or Management.

Requirements

Some related experience preferred.
Highly motivated to work, learn, and teach.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Currently enrolled in a college or university.
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong technical and analytical skills in select areas of technology.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Average mobility to move around an office environment.
Capable of conducting work on a computer.
