Production Iceguards is a job classification that fabricates, assembles, and repairs high-performance parts using materials like carbon fiber and fiberglass, utilizing techniques such as hand lay-up and vacuum bagging. A Production Iceguards team member must repeatedly produce quality products in an efficient manner while maintaining a high regard for his/her own safety and health as well as that of co-workers. Required Skills Responsible for the construction, preparation for cure and final preparation of composite and Iceguard parts and other products as required. Manufacture parts using processes such as hand lay-up, vacuum bagging and prepreg lay-up. Prepare molds, tools, and materials, including cutting fabrics, mixing resins, and applying release agents. Trim, sand, drill, and finish composite components to required tolerances. Lay up composite materials and perform other tasks to work instructions, blueprints, and engineering specifications. Build, breakout, clean, jig and pack products. Must interpret drawings, pictorial representations, written work instructions and engineering drawings. Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify product quality and identify defects. Maintain safe and effective work area/environment and use appropriate personal protective and safety equipment. Must complete proper documentation. Must follow written and oral instructions with little supervision.
