About The Position

The Production Flow Coordinator plays a key role in keeping our upholstery and assembly teams supplied with the components they need to build high-quality furniture on time. This is a highly active, on-your-feet role focused on organizing, staging, and delivering parts to the production lines according to the daily schedule. You will help ensure smooth workflow, accurate part availability, and on-time completions. Requirements

  • One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency
  • Strong organization, planning, and critical-thinking skills; able to coordinate the flow and movement of components efficiently.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop order prints, procedure manuals, dispatch reports, and safety data sheets.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to match numbers and verify component accuracy.
  • Good communication skills, including reading emails, writing simple correspondence, and communicating issues or instructions clearly to supervisors and team members.
  • Ability to follow detailed written, verbal, and schedule-based instructions.
  • Computer proficiency, including office and inventory control systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a regulated, safety-focused manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to learn and utilize strong interpersonal skills in a team setting.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift as required.
  • Reliability, a safety-first mindset, and willingness to work overtime based on production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure upholstery and assembly lines always have the correct components and materials in the right order and at the right time.
  • Review dispatch reports and shop orders to determine priority work and required components.
  • Stage, load, and deliver parts to production areas based on scheduled needs.
  • Proactively identify missing, damaged, or unfinished components and communicate issues to supervisors.
  • Inspect parts for quality and follow proper procedures for handling non-conforming materials.
  • Maintain accurate counts of components and keep all items organized and in sequence.
  • Keep your workspace clean, safe, and well organized; follow all safety guidelines.
  • Label and prioritize items due the same day to keep workflow smooth and on schedule.
  • Work closely with other Flow Coordinators, supervisors, and managers to support production flow.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support additional tasks as needed to meet production goals.
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities to learn additional functions.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
