About The Position

Production Engineering Senior Manager Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Production & Industrial Engineering (PIE) organization has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Production Engineering Manager to join the team in Portland, OR . Position Overview: Successful candidates will have prior demonstrated success in developing and maintaining productive relationships with customers, stakeholders, and peers, as well as strong problem-solving skills, a willingness to take initiative, and the ability to partner across multiple engineering functions, business segments, and geographic areas. They will also have prior experience working in high-paced critical-flow production environments and a proven track-record of being adaptable to changing demands. All candidates will be considered based on the strength of their Production Engineering and/or Materials & Processes background, breadth and depth of experiences, and educational background. We are looking for leaders who bring diverse perspectives, curiosity and creativity when approaching challenges, and an insatiable desire for improvement in a global business environment. Travel to other locations domestically and internationally may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 3+ years of experience working directly in a manufacturing environment (fabrication or assembly factories).
  • 1+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams.
  • The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Portland, OR.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Production, Materials & Processes (M&P), or Industrial Engineer or leading teams of Production / M&P / Industrial Engineers.
  • Experience partnering with global, geographically diverse teams.
  • Willing to travel 25% of the time both domestically & internationally as required by the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead production engineering teams with a commitment to safety, quality and integrity.
  • Develop and maintain high-trust relationships with all customers, peers, and direct reports; meet commitments to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute integrated program plans, policies and procedures; provide input on business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Manage operational budgets
  • Partner with Production, Materials & Processes, and Industrial Engineering skill teams to acquire and retain skilled employees to execute statement of work
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees and front-line leaders.
  • Ensure continuous production support to enable safe, stable, and standard production system operations across all shifts
