Production Electrical Technician - 2nd Shift Location: South Milwaukee, WI Shift: 2nd Shift (Full-Time) Bonus: $2,000 Sign-On & Retention Bonus Pay Progression Step 1: $32.25/hr Step 2: $33.47/hr Step 3: $34.68/hr Shift Premium: +$1.00/hr for 2nd shift About Caterpillar South Milwaukee Caterpillar is hiring experienced Production Electrical Technician that will install, wire, and test electrical systems on heavy equipment to join our manufacturing team in South Milwaukee, WI. At our South Milwaukee facility, you'll be part of a team that builds some of the largest and most powerful mining machines in the world. This facility specializes in the production of Cat Electric Rope Shovels (ERS) used in mining operations around the world.

Requirements

  • Experience with electrical tools: drills, pliers, wire strippers, soldering equipment, cranes, etc.
  • Familiarity with electrical components: conduits, wires, cables, fittings, grease, oil, and hardware
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wire diagrams, and blueprints
  • Working knowledge of high, medium, and low-pressure hydraulic and automated lube systems
  • 3-5 years of electrical assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting

Responsibilities

  • Plan, layout, and install electrical components and systems using schematics and engineering drawings
  • Use hand and power tools, bending/threading machines, and cranes to position and install wiring and equipment
  • Measure, cut, and run wire and conduit; connect pre-wired components and complete circuits
  • Strip, splice, solder, and connect terminals, lugs, and hardware
  • Perform functional and diagnostic tests using voltmeters, watt meters, phase sequence meters, tachometers, and stroboscopes
  • Troubleshoot and adjust electrical systems to meet specifications
  • Lead and support others in installing and testing rotating, relay, and electronic circuits
