About The Position

Lightera, a leading manufacturer of optical fiber, cable and apparatus has an Production Control Specialist position available at our fiber manufacturing facility located in Norcross, Georgia. This position will support a very dynamic, high-tech, and high-volume process that runs 24/7.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Management, or related field or Proven experience with pursuit of degree.
  • 5 years of supply chain or manufacturing experience.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Provides input into new processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
  • Communicates within and outside of the organization which include customers or vendors.
  • Works to influence others to accept individual or team’s views or practices and changes to concepts, practices and approaches.
  • Ability to research, troubleshoot and independently resolve issues throughout the order fulfillment process.
  • Ability to use ad-hoc data collection and analysis tools
  • Establishes operational plans for job area with mid-term impact on results (e.g., less than 1 year).
  • Strong computer skills including Excel and SQL
  • Self-motivated, independent worker, strong time management skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams using collaborative tools such as web based meeting management, action plans, process maps that can quickly and clearly illustrate the problem that needs to be solved or process that needs to be improved.

  • Experience and understanding of optical fiber production process and customer requirements
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt

Responsibilities

  • Observe and promote facility safety procedures and culture
  • Daily updates to Dashboards and production control tools
  • Communicate with Fiber sales on order priorities to ensure orders are completed on time
  • Manage PTS / SAP production tools
  • Optimize inventory utilization and fiber select processes to ensure FIFO methods are obtained
  • Identify, trouble-shoot and resolve issues impacting on time delivery
  • Support continuous improvement of the order fulfillment process
  • Support the production scheduling personnel and shipping and receiving teams
  • Communicate with customer service team on ship dates and issues related to orders
  • Provide documents to shipping for exports orders as needed
  • RMA processing as requested
  • Manage Offline coloring selections and management process
