About The Position

The Production Control Manager is responsible for leading end‑to-end production planning, scheduling, and material control for Arcadia’s engineered‑to‑order architectural glazing systems. This role ensures that custom products—often with tight tolerances, unique configurations, and demanding timelines—move through the manufacturing process with precision, efficiency, and reliability.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience in production control, manufacturing operations, or materials management within a comparable industry, such as: Architectural building products Fenestration Metal fabrication Engineered components High‑mix, engineered‑to‑order manufacturing
  • Proven success managing production schedules, material flow, and inventory in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, material handling processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
  • Strong capabilities in production control, scheduling, and material flow management.
  • Expertise in manufacturing operations and material handling.
  • Proficiency in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering and machine shop operations.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and data integrity management.
  • Leadership skills that promote accountability, accuracy, and operational excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in a machine shop, metal fabrication, or engineered‑to‑order production environment.
  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing software and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional teams and driving measurable process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee master production scheduling, finite capacity planning, and shop‑floor control to achieve on‑time delivery (OTD) and schedule adherence targets.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with customer requirements, engineering specifications, and manufacturing capacity.
  • Manage material planning and inventory accuracy, ensuring timely availability of raw materials, fabricated components, and purchased parts while reducing shortages and past‑due materials.
  • Coordinate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, Procurement, Quality, and Machine Shop teams to optimize routings, improve flow, reduce bottlenecks, and resolve production issues quickly.
  • Maintain accurate ERP/MRP system data, ensuring real‑time visibility of WIP, capacity, material status, and promise dates.
  • Monitor key production metrics, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions to improve throughput, efficiency, and schedule performance.
  • Lead Lean‑based continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, enhance productivity, and strengthen operational discipline.
  • Develop, mentor, and supervise the Production Control team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and proactive problem‑solving.
  • Partner with procurement, logistics, and quality teams to ensure smooth material flow and on‑time product delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies across production control activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects and additional responsibilities to support departmental and organizational objectives.
