Production Control Manager

About The Position

Overview Oversees the day-to-day operations of the production planning team including the development and maintenance of the production schedule and long range production capacity planning. Interfaces with key personnel from the primary business functions to ensure delivery commitments are realistic and fully supported. Works with the Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to forecast and plan future business while utilizing long range capacity planning tools to identify resource bottlenecks requiring action. The Production Control Manager is also responsible for continuous improvement activities in the planning and scheduling areas. Responsibilities Provide leadership to the Production Planning Team Manage the production schedule and monitor progress to identify and eliminate scheduling barriers and conflicts affecting quality and delivery Identify production bottlenecks and work with the Manufacturing team to ensure necessary labor, materials or other resources are applied to meet quality and delivery requirements. Actively participate in program/part launch scheduling activities with Sales and Engineering to ensure customer expectations are understood and delivery commitments are met. Work with Purchasing team to expedite critical materials as needed. Work with Production Planning and Inventory Control teams to set up and run inventory kanban programs, pull systems, and other part programs as needed. Work with Production Planning, Inventory Control and Manufacturing teams to minimize overrun, excess and obsolete inventory cost exposure. Participate in strategic planning processes to include Sales and Operations planning activities Reconcile customer provided supplier delivery ratings to ensure performance measurement accuracy Lead weekly production planning meeting. Qualifications EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Must have Bachelor's degree and 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment Scheduling/Planning experience required Sound technical knowledge and proven ability to develop subordinates Effective written and verbal communication skills APICS certification desired Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Computer literate. Requirements

Must have Bachelor's degree and 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
Scheduling/Planning experience required
Sound technical knowledge and proven ability to develop subordinates
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Computer literate.
Ability to read blueprints

Nice To Haves

APICS certification desired
Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
