About The Position

Tesla is recruiting for an experienced Production Control (PC) Manager to join our Energy Team and manage day-to-day operations at the Megafactory in Lathrop, CA. The successful candidate will oversee inbound material flow, on-site yard, and hostler management, receiving and conveyance to the production line, inventory control and outbound Megapack loading. The PC Manager will lead a team of supervisors and/or associate managers across multiple shifts at a 24/7 facility in Lathrop, CA. In this role, the PC Manager works together with Production, Engineering and Planning as well as NPI, inbound and outbound Logistics to ensure overall success of Tesla.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a Material Handling, Production Control and/or Warehouse Distribution in a leadership role
  • Minimum requirement of 1 year as a PC Associate Manager at Tesla or equivalent external experience
  • Experience in Warehouse Management, Inventory Management, internal conveyance, and yard flow
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Finance, Global Supply Chain and Logistics
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment by establishing and enforcing operational standards and procedures
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and mentor people to achieve great things
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and proven ability to deploy lean concepts

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of daily operations for material/returnable flow for inbound and outbound operations
  • Govern, and ensure core KPI targets are met in Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost and Delivery while strictly manage material flow processes to sustain system accuracy of inventory
  • Ensure on-time and accurate delivery of parts and material to the manufacturing lines and outbound shipping to customers through robust mechanisms and standard work adherence
  • Lead efforts to optimize space and manpower, while ensuring downstream customer satisfaction
  • Assertively solve daily problems by applying Tesla problem-solving methodology
  • Maintain a culture cost reduction and continuous learning through daily communication and support
  • Conduct daily safety, and process audits to ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance to standard work and ensure all needed equipment is present and operational
