The Production Control Assistant is detailed oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment in a culture of Continuous Improvement. Key responsibility is supporting production control and inventory control activities in manufacturing operations, working as part of a cross functional team including manufacturing, planning, purchasing, quality, and inventory control.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to learn and use a computer based MRP/ERP system.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be able to obtain a forklift license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cycle counting
  • Assist with research and resolving inventory variances for assigned areas
  • Flush count and consolidate inventory to improve storage efficiency
  • Pick parts for work orders.
  • Request, prepare, track and stage materials to be transferred between plants.
  • Complete paperwork for tracking of material movement
  • Use the ADC scanner or computer for tracking of material movement.
  • Stage materials to be shipped to or received from Subcontract operations.
  • Operate a scale, scanner, box stapler, heat sealer, tape gun, pallet strapper, and pallet wrapper.
  • Operate mechanized material handling equipment to include forklifts, pallet jackets.
  • Print and assemble work order packets per the master production schedule.
  • Adjust work order quantities, operations and sequences as directed.
  • Reprint and replace updated in-process work orders.
  • Track completed work orders into inventory and staging for put-a-way.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
  • Other duties as assigned.
