About The Position

The Production Control Assistant provides crucial administrative and operational support to the Production Control team. This role involves maintaining accurate job data, processing shop documentation, assembling work order packets, and ensuring the timely execution of the production schedule. The position supports planners by handling high-volume clerical activities, allowing them to concentrate on core production planning tasks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Data entry experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing/production environment experience preferred.
  • ERP experience (Epicor) is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and interruptions.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and coordination skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate and comfortable with digital systems.
  • Self-starter with willingness to take on repetitive clerical tasks.

  • Manages high-volume clerical and documentation tasks efficiently.
  • Communicates clearly with planners, production staff, and supervisors.

  • Supports production planning by entering labor, quantities, job updates, material issues, and revision changes correctly.
  • Works closely with planners, production control staff, and occasionally purchasing.
  • Able to rapidly understand internal workflows, job packet requirements, and ERP functionality.
  • Understanding production flow helps contextualize job packets, material issues, and work order processes.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain work orders and revision updates.
  • Perform daily job maintenance, including labor entry and quantity updates.
  • Conduct assembly job reviews and document accuracy checks.
  • Support daily review of jobs ready to issue to Raw Material.
  • Assist with MRP tasks as assigned.
  • Support CNF (Confirmation) and RMA (Return Material Authorization) review processes.
  • Assemble and prepare complete work order packets for production.
  • Split jobs as required for scheduling or material needs.
  • Print and review drawings as part of packet preparation.
  • Coordinate questions and discrepancies with the Production Control Manager.
  • Support the purchasing team with clerical tasks such as filing or printing, as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties assigned by the supervisor.
