About The Position

As a Production Associate, you will assist Metalworks with a variety of tasks supporting daily production operations. This position is responsible for performing all duties as outlined in the UA Local 411 Metal Trades Agreement. Shipping assistants are needed to safely load and move large pipe assemblies, loose pipe spools, pallets, and various carts and frames associated with the plumbing and piping industry. This role requires experience operating reach forklifts, overhead cranes, and standard forklifts to safely handle materials.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent level of education is required.
  • Experience operating reach forklifts, overhead cranes, and standard forklifts to safely handle materials is required.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing operations is a plus.
  • Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Basic knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Basic knowledge of a wide range of fabrication materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to speak clearly and exercise good judgment.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

  • Material handling, assembly, and packaging of completed manufactured products.
  • Rigging, hoisting, and operation of equipment in the movement of manufactured products.
  • All duties assigned by direct supervision including but not limited to general cleaning of the facility, grounds, equipment, and depending on the assignment could potentially include performing administrative support to the leadership team in an office environment.
  • Distribution of equipment tools and supplies to aid in the production process. Including the logistical management of incoming and outgoing materials as it is processed on the production floor.
  • Quality control and quality assurance of manufactured products.
  • Maintenance of plant facilities, equipment, and tools – Head Maintenance Man.
  • Execution of assigned steps in the manufacturing and fabrication process. Including the operation of cutting, beveling, grooving, and threading tools in the preparations of piping products and assemblies.
