About The Position

SUMMARY: Coordinate activities of the shipping and receiving team. Ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments, proper inventory and adherence to established procedures and quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the overall supply chain and logistics operations. Implement measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency. Responsibilities: Leads a team of shipping and receiving personnel, providing guidance, training, and input towards performance evaluations. Coordinates and oversees the daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that shipments are accurately processed, packaged, and prepared for transportation. Collaborates with internal departments, including procurement, warehouse, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination of orders and shipments. Monitors inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages and maintains accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments. Ensures that shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and documented to prevent damage and errors during transit. Addresses and resolves any issues or discrepancies related to shipments, such as delays, damaged goods, or order discrepancies. Utilizes shipping software and systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate reports on shipping activities. Optimizes shipping processes and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Maintains a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations and guidelines. Provides training to new team members and conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team's skills and knowledge. Collaborates with carriers, suppliers, and other external partners to coordinate transportation and logistics activities. Supports the implementation of new shipping technologies and tools to enhance operational capabilities. Analyzes shipping data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement. Assists in the development and implementation of shipping-related policies, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in shipping and logistics.
Forklift
Crane
Strong knowledge of shipping processes, transportation modes, and inventory management.
Proficiency in using shipping software and systems for tracking and reporting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle shipping-related challenges effectively.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
Requires working in a manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
