Our shop produces polymer and ceramic composite matrix parts as well as assembles fan case and stator for commercial jet engines. Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have basic shop math with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate fractions and decimals.
  • Must have basic computer skills and be able to use computers.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and planning.
  • Must be able to move parts of 50-60 lbs. with the use of lift fixtures.
  • Must be able to work shifts. Although we will work to place employees on their preferred shift, employees must be willing to work on the shift as assigned. By applying to and accepting offers for this position, employee acknowledges acceptance to work on shift as assigned
  • Must be able to work one of the following shifts: 2nd shift: 3pm -11:30 pm Monday-Friday 3rd shift: 11pm – 7:30 am Monday-Friday
  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year manufacturing or accredited Manufacturing Skills course
  • Prior mechanical or shop-related experience
  • Associate Degree in Manufacturing, Machining Technology, Composites Manufacturing or equivalent.
  • Prior Aircraft Engines or composites operations experience.
  • Prior experience with composite hardware layup and machining.
  • Prior Lean/Six Sigma training and experience

Responsibilities

  • Complete required training for each composites or assembly process
  • Complete all required compliance training
  • Complete all EHS training and participate in safety and or quality audit
  • Be an active contributing member of a high performance self-directed work team
  • Be able to set up and operate production machinery including, but not limited to: N/C mill/drill machines, pneumatic presses & injectors, hand grinders, NDT inspection, painting equipment, cranes, forklifts, ovens, blasting machines, ply cutters, layup tables, vacuum lines, CMM inspection machines, grinders, and similar machines.
  • May run multiple machines.
  • Perform intricate manual operations such as: layup, demold, de flash, kit cutting, and other similar operations.
  • Develop and improve basic work instructions such as methods sheets, drawings, sketches, etc., using past job knowledge and skills.
  • Work will involve a variety of metals, composite materials, and parts with close tolerances and fine finishes.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean.
  • Maintain and demonstrate a commitment and willingness to flex and rotate to other tasks, assignments, or duties per need of the business.
