About The Position

Airgas is Hiring for a Cylinder Loader in LaPorte, TX! The Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) will be responsible for loading and unloading high-pressure and liquid cylinders on/off trucks to comply with federal, state, and local regulations. The Loader will also be responsible for meeting all safety standards in the loading and unloading cylinder gasses per Airgas procedures. Inspects cylinders before filling, following standard procedures required by the government, Airgas, and distributor standards. Understands the hazards of various gasses, sizes, and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks. Safely operates a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse/material-handling equipment. Loads cylinders on/off vehicles, using hand truck or chain hoist and records type and quantity of cylinders. Examines returned cylinders for surface defects, dents, cracks, burns and performs minor maintenance of equipment and inspection of cylinders before filling.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform heavy work – routinely lifts 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lifts 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
  • Ability to read and comprehend all printed and written communication and documents.
  • Must be able to become forklift certified.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior forklift experience.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
