Production Assistant - Temp Position

About The Position

This is a 3-6 month temporary position to support our Production team at our Solana Beach Office. The Production Assistant will assist the NAC West Production team with production activities, ensuring contract requirements, product specifications, and deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • Security Clearance-Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite or similar software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-2+ years of experience in related disciplines including design drafting, production planning, or assembly work, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with FAR part 12 and FAR part 15 government procurement desired
  • Familiarity with International and Domestic shipping services, including FedEx and UPS, and hazardous material shipping requirements (i.e. LI Batteries) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bills of Material preferred
  • Experience with Cycle Counting preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP system preferred
  • Familiarity of cGMP preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Production Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense industry a plus
  • Stockroom/Inventory Control experience preferred
  • KanBan experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with production and capacity planning in a low volume high mix environment, kitting from pick list and full execution of S&OP results
  • Assists with receiving inspections to validates the quality of purchased raw materials based on set acceptance criteria
  • Assist with monitoring, tracking, and moving parts as required through the company to ensure timely delivery to next production location.
  • Coordinate off-site processing of parts to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Assist with maintaining reports to highlight needs, deliverables and constraints as required for internal and customer use.
  • Assists with setting and overseeing work assignments, schedules, and work quality of the manufacturing team.
  • Coordinates work with and of appropriate department staff so that projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist with identifying, acquiring, and ensuring the availability of materials and supplies.
  • Assist and Coordinates hardware testing with quality assurance staff.
  • Identifies requirements for packaging and shipping.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
