About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for performing a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. The role constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems, working from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. This is a short-term, temporary position with an expected duration of approximately three months, possibly longer.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and on-the-job training or postsecondary certificate or associate's degree
  • Advanced problem-solving and debugging experience in mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Ability to review Engineering drawings and accompanying specifications.
  • 5S and Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use bench top test equipment and custom manufacturing test stations.
  • Ability to escalate equipment downtime as needed.
  • Knowledge of the English and Metric measuring systems with the ability to perform mathematical conversions to each.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Experience with GMP requirements and medical industry requirements
  • Able to define Preventative Maintenance procedures and review/maintain spare parts for the equipment.
  • Experience in process and tooling development, test method development, data acquisition and analysis.
  • General metrology skills (e.g., experience with machinist microscopes, calipers, ROI and weight scales).
  • Experience with all requirements of electrical LOTO, chemical handling and hazardous waste guidelines.
  • Clear understanding of EHS requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Builds, tests, and integrates subassemblies, independently or in partnership, in order to manufacture “Yomi”.
  • Performs calibration and alignment checks using CMM arm; performs adjustments, modifications and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
  • Builds Field Replaceable Units (FRU) and Consumables in order to fulfill customer sales orders.
  • Occasionally provides troubleshooting, testing and or assembly aid in the field.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains test equipment, components, devices and/or systems.
  • Interprets schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions and procedures.
  • Operates related equipment, conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Supports and participates in planned and unplanned internal, regulatory and/or notified body audits.
  • Provides information that is timely, accurate and substantiated by objective evidence.
  • Conducts manufacturing, quality control and R&D tasks per approved operational procedures or as defined by the requestor of the tasks.
  • Maintains company working areas and local environment in accordance with applicable general operating procedures.
  • Assures that all measuring instruments in use are within calibration limits.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, national, international and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
  • Completes training as applicable for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related tasks.
  • Follows all applicable Quality and Safety procedures.
  • Follows Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
