About The Position

The Cello – Production Assistant will assist the supervisor in trouble shooting, making minor adjustments, and report any issues with plant equipment to achieve maximum levels of quality and production while minimizing downtime. Training will be “on-the-job” and in a fast-paced work environment. This vital position will also work closely with the plant operator, assistant supervisor, and maintenance staff.

Requirements

High School/GED Diploma or one to two years experience in related field or a combination of both education and experience
Valid Driver License and clean driving record
Effective communication skills.
Punctual, excellent attendance record, and cooperate with others.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Basic mathematical and computer skills.
Apply common sense, understand, and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form

Nice To Haves

Two to three years’ experience in production maintenance (production worker).
Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Mechanically inclined
Forklift certified

Responsibilities

Alert maintenance staff, plant operator, and manager of all breakdowns.
Give updates on equipment statuses.
Read and prepare work orders.
Create logistics to perform work while coordinating with production, maintenance, and supervisors.
Monitor production area.
Respond to maintenance calls.
Check code dates, work orders, and inspect equipment.
Train new employees on how to safely work on or near equipment or heavy machinery.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe plant.
Inspect work area.
Perform clean-up using proper tools and machinery as needed.
Responsible for notifying supervisor of any object found or pest sighted in the work area.
Must be aware of the following and assist in interpreting and enforcing them: ALL sanitation guidelines, safety regulations, and company policies.
Monitor and ensure that the following areas are running smoothly and not backing up: “Big Blue”, Cello Pit, and South Plant.
Perform other assigned duties.
