About The Position

The Cello – Lead will assist the supervisor in trouble shooting, making minor adjustments, and reporting problems with plant equipment to achieve maximum levels of quality and production while minimizing downtime. The candidate will be training “on-the-job” while in a fast-paced environment. Perform all functions of a sanitation employee.

Requirements

  • High School/GED Diploma or one to two years experience in related field or a combination of both education and experience
  • Valid Driver License and clean driving record
  • Two to three years’ experience is needed
  • Previous work-related skills and/or knowledge
  • Must be able to read and interpret the following documents related to operating equipment, safety rules and guidelines, and work orders.
  • ALWAYS wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Punctual, excellent attendance record.
  • Corporate with others.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense.
  • Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  • Competent to train employees, plan, assign, direct, address complaints, and resolve problems.
  • Communicate effectively in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent, from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training in a food/manufacturing production facility.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Forklift certified.

Responsibilities

  • Alert maintenance staff, plant operator, and manager of all breakdowns.
  • Provide updates on equipment statuses.
  • Maintain manual and/or computerized records, statuses, and location of materials.
  • Adjust, as needed, the plant equipment to optimize quality and production.
  • Train new employees on proper safety techniques near production equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe plant and production area.
  • In charge for notifying supervisor of any out of place objects or items.
  • Must be aware of the following and assist in interpreting and enforcing them: ALL sanitation guidelines, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Make sure all equipment is in working order and safe to operate.
  • Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Establish and/or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and deadlines (directed by sales and shipping).
  • Maintain accurate times, employees, and production records.
  • Suggest ideas for improvements in safety, equipment performance, and production methods.
  • Responsible to organize and carry-out safety methods and promote a safe work environment.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Assist workers in solving problems and provide follow-ups.
  • Initiate plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Responsible for reviewing QTV records, per USDA guidelines.
  • Communicate with other supervisors or departments as needed.
  • Perform checks, as needed, to ensure specifications are being met.
  • Direct set up of machines and equipment.
  • Report any malfunctions to maintenance personnel in a timely manner.
  • Enforce GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) throughout the plant and production areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
