About The Position

The Production Assistant assists the Pastor in ensuring that sick and homebound parishioners, as well as those away from the church, receive spiritual care through the parish’s liturgical services and other events via social media. This role reports to the Parish Business Administrator for administrative matters and to Information Technology for specific tasks related to liturgies and events. The position is integral to extending the ministry of the Pastor at San Jose Catholic Church - Austin, engaging in ministry for the Church by supporting and upholding the Catholic vision, mission, values, and ministry of the parish.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Mass and basic understanding on the importance of the rites of the Catholic Church.
  • Skill in organizing, prioritizing, and utilizing effective time management techniques to carry out tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to help sustain an environment consistent with the parish mission and goals.
  • Ability to demonstrate interest in learning.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with all co-workers.
  • Ability to provide excellent livestreams to online community.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with the Church Community.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to proficiently communicate in English and Spanish (conversing, writing, and reading).
  • Highschool or GED diploma or working towards it.
  • Minimum of one year as a volunteer in liturgy.
  • Proficient in conversing, reading, and writing in English.
  • Bilingual in English-Spanish (proficient in conversing, reading, and writing).
  • Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies through the employment period.

Responsibilities

  • Support and uphold the Catholic vision, mission, values, and ministry of the parish in both professional and personal life.
  • Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the way to live out the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Continuously grow in personal and ministerial identity by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities, as directed.
  • Participate in planning meetings with the Parish Business Administrator, Liturgy and Music, and Information Technology.
  • Participate in check-in meetings with Information Technology.
  • Livestream liturgical services and other events oriented to the sick, homebound, and those away from the church.
  • Maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to staff and customers.
  • Review and report comments placed on live streams to the PBA and Pastor.
  • Perform other duties assigned as needed.
