About The Position

In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments. A Production Assembler is an entry level assembler apprentice training to become an Alternative Fuel Technician. Requires a minimum of one year of technical training, shop, or warehouse experience under supervision. Works under supervision and must display component assembly or mechanical aptitude. Candidate must have the ability to read repair orders and conduct basic component Candidate must have the ability to take direction, a positive attitude, and perform quality work. Job Summary: As a Production Installer at Model 1, you’ll play a hands-on role in bringing new commercial vehicles to life and supporting our mission of Service with Purpose. Every day, you’ll help prepare brand-new commercial vehicles, suchas service vans, utility trucks, shuttle buses, and other fleet vehicles that serve schools, businesses, and communitiesnationwide. You’ll rotate through essential production tasks—including inspections, basic component installations,detailing, and quality assurance —to ensure every vehicle is ready for service. No prior experience is required. If you’re mechanically curious and eager to learn, we’ll provide all entry-level tools,training, and a clean, first-shift environment where you can build real technical skills. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred (no experience required; we provide training)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in a shop environment
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Must pass background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Complete vehicle acceptance, inspection, and release tasks using Record360.
  • Inspect new vehicles for damage, missing components, and quality concerns.
  • Perform basic repairs, adjustments, and component replacements to meet Model 1 and OEM standards.
  • Install standard equipment such as racks, bins, shelves, and customer-specified components.
  • Conduct operational checks on brakes, steering, lights, power equipment, and safety systems.
  • Perform fluid checks and add antifreeze or other fluids as required.
  • Touch up minor paint imperfections using approved materials.
  • Clean, detail, and prepare vehicle interiors and exteriors for customer delivery.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area; follow all safety procedures.
  • Use all tools and equipment responsibly; report safety issues immediately.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to support production flow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.
